So pretty...I'm a fan of demonstrators as well, but I only have 3 or 4. You have all of mine up there in the photo. :notworthy1:

Wait, you got Parker carts into your Lamy Vista? I thought nothing other than Lamy's proprietary cartridges fit. Am I the only one who didn't know about this? What else fits in a Lamy that I don't know about?

Good catch. That is a refilled cartridge that previously held Parker Penman Emerald. I chose to use that particular cartridge because it's made of a nice clear plastic that that lets the ink color show through.

Regular Parker Quink cartridges are a hair wider than the Penman ones and are a tight fit (width-wise) in a Safari or Vista, they work just fine in a AL-Star.

Ah, you have an old Sheaffer just like mine (the one second from right, also referred to as a school pen). My dad gave me that one 36 years ago and that's the pen that started this passion.

I love demonstrators. My collection:

1960's era Sheaffer clear school pen

1970's era Sheaffer clear school pen

Pelikan M800 Blue Ocean demonstrator

Pelikan M800 green demonstrator

Pelikan M800 clear demonstrator

Pelikan M200 blue demonstrator

Pilot Custom 74 clear demonstrator

Senator demonstrator

Wish list:

Omas Ogiva demonstrator

Aurora Optima demonstrator

Pilot Custom 823 clear demonstrator

any 1930's-1950's vintage demonstrators I can find!

Are these *any* colour demonstrators we're talking about here, or just the clear CLEAR ones? I love demonstrators and while I don't have the most extensive collection here, I could try and take a picture tomorrow, but I need some parameters - do things like the Custom 823 (smoke) count?

Great collection, great pics! My question is a bit off base, but how do you keep the barrels clean? Do you flush your pens after ever fill, or how often? Do only some inks stain or discolor? Or are there other tricks to keep them clear? Pardon my noobishness, just received my first demonstrator, the TWISBI and I want to keep it as beautiful as when it arrived!

My super dirty Reform. I have almost always used it with just Noodlers Burgundy, so at least the "mess" is all one nice color.

I am not an expert (not by a long shot), but I think any mostly clear pen should qualify. I included the Sheaffer cartridge and Wality in the family photo, but they may only be second cousins twice removed because only the barrels are clear. I think the Petit1 qualifies because the cap and section are clear, even if the barrel is colored. I really like the the feed on the Pilot Crystal because it is traslucent enough to see the ink flowing along the feed. I decided against including a dark smoke No-nonsense because it's pretty hard to actually see the innards.

But it's up to you.

That's a classy looking pen, even with all the ink in the cap.

Here's a Pelikan to balance things out.

Very nice. Are the Pelican clear demonstrators still in production?

Demonstrators are really cool and I collected them at one time but couldn't get myself to fill one for fear of ink being seen everywhere. I've since dismantled the collection but you all folks have yourselves some nice looking demos and dang, you all use 'em too, what? You guys with the multiples, which ones do you like the best?

My favorite is my Pelikan M800 green demonstrator - it has a broad nib. I vary between the M800 Blue Ocean and the M800 clear demonstrator as to which is my next favorite. If I'd bought a broad nib, though, the Pilot Custom 74 clear demonstrator would probably be in second place right after the M800 green demonstrator...
