Hi travberg,

I was at the Chicago show and unfortunately the New Jotter book was tied up in customs and did not make the show. I was fortunate to receive the only copy from David Shepherd and Dan Zazove along with three of the new Jotters for the book. I know they are taking orders for the New Jotter book and hope to introduce this book at the DC show. You can contact David Shepherd at david@parker51.co.uk or Dan Zazove at dzazove@perkinscoie.com; and should be able to order the Jotter Book. This is a Great Book on the icon of the Jotter and everyone even remotely interested in Jotters should hove a copy of this book. Below is the Photo of the book and Jotter that comes with the book.

Take Care, Francis

I believe Pendemonium will be taking care of US distribution of the book -- they are certainly taking care of the delivery of the books for which orders were taken at the Chicago show (mine included!).

Hi David,

You are correct, I forgot to mention Frank and Sam, as I knew they would be distributing the New Jotter book, Sorry for the oversight on my part.

Now that the Jotter book is out, is it a good time to sell Jotters? I have several that are depicted in the book, like the Touch Control jotter, mini jotters, fishscale cap jotter, tiara jotter, World's Fair jotter, etc. I'm streamling my collection and think prices may not be better in the future.

What do you think?

Regarding the book:

I bought the Jotter Book at the Chicago Show and it was delivered to my home about 10 days ago. I'm almost done reading it. It could have used a little closer editing, but all in all it's a pretty good book, with a lot of Parker history and profiles of people important to the Parker Pen Company. It describes the science behind ballpoint pen and ink. The Parker Jotter doesn't have the variety of models as did Duofold or even Vac, but the book has many interesting photos of Jotter protoypes.

Sam and Frank only did the fulfillment for Shepard on the book. The fiasco at Chicago with customs tying up the delivery resulted in the approx 92 books sold to be distributed by Pendemonium. Only 150 books were brought to Chicago. And sad to say, there is NO distribution set up in the USA for this book. And I am told the Washington DC show will have only 40 books for sale. I was able to purchase the 50 books (enroute to me via Media Mail) left over and will be bringing them to the Show in Miami in July. Pendemonium got 8 books and last I knew sold 4.

This book will be very difficult to get if Parker does not establish a distribution. I have asked to do so, but no answer other than being told they do not intend to have a USA Distributor.

If you're talking EBAY - with bidder a,,,9 still buying up 90% of the rarer jotters, you will have no trouble at all achieving a good $ haul.
