Hey Fpn; Here's My Favorite Celluloid Pen

I don't prefer praising my own pens but what the heck! this one is a delight. I absolutely love the intricate depth of the celluloid pattern. It is a Princeps faceted button filler in blue brown celluloid. I tried a quick search to find pens made with same/similar celluloid but no luck. I would love to learn more about this particular celluloid. Here is a couple of pictures for your viewing. I am almost sure that the nib is not original (it a 14K warranted) and noticed a thread elsewhere discussing the correct nib for a Princeps. Unfortunately the pictures from that thread are missing. Any lead on the nib is also greatly appreciated.

You Sir are a genius and know your pens. Thank you for your kind words.

Yes that's a grey marbled oversize Ancora.

I will be grateful if you could show me the correct nib for the Princeps. Also it is not very clear if Princeps was made by Omas? What are your thoughts?

Wow Wow Wow! When did you start collecting fountain pen?

Thank you for sharing this picture. It is interesting to see the subtle variation in colors across the pens.

As you can see,

the Princeps nib is similar to an Omas nib,

and the celluloid is beautiful,

yet i don't think this pen was made by Omas.fpn_1302946116__princepsa2.jpg

Makiv,

i'm a FP collector since 1990 circa.

Your Ancora is really very interesting!!

That model hasn't an official name,

but is usually called "zampa di leone" (lion's paw) for the clip.

Is the colour of your pen like this?fpn_1302947411__dscn2450.jpgfpn_1302947476__dscn2452.jpg

Grazie Ambros. It is a lovely nib indeed! I especially like the deco font. How does it write, comparable to Omas flex nibs?

This is a Princeps B&P oversize,

with it's original nib.

Now I know that I own a lion's paw Ancora; how cool it that.

Yes my pen is the same material as yours. I am not sure if you'd call it grey marbled or grey veined celluloid. A couple of pictures of my pen; has a lovely flex nib to boot.
