John Holland Gold/mother-Of-Pearl Dip Pen In Box

Recommended Posts

A dip pen by John Holland with an HM Smith flexy nib in it's original box. A delicate pen, dating from the late 19thcentury, with a fine and flexy contemporary nib. Translucent mother-of-pearl handle, with engraved gold fitting (unmarked, likely 9K); gold nib marked "HM SMITH Co NEW YORK No1". 5 ½″ long, excluding nib; excellent condition, with some wear to the box, including one missing closure hook.

A pen so flexible and responsive it almost has a life of it's own (as you can tell from my runaway writing sample!)
