Okay, lets see what hi-vac double muckety muck fillers I have. There are others but this is enough bandwidth damage for the evening.

Under "Technique" the double reservoir power filler is listed under "Use and Maintenance", and on the right upper part of the page there's a list of pens that have this filling system, although the list is incomplete.

ahhh. Thank you.

Yes it is very incomplete... and inaccurate. The "Wall Street" is listed there as one of the Double Reservoir Power Filler pens, yet going to that pen (regular pens) the details say "filling: converter". And since, as I said, the Limited Edition Flash page doesn't show up correctly for me, I can't see if there's a Wall Street LE and if *it* has the Double Reservoir Power Filler.

Looking for Wall Street (LE or regular) on ebay the first one I looked at said Piston Filler and that was an LE.

Sigh...

Why don't you try a different browser and/or update your version of Flash?

and the link to show the animated instructions also works.

I linked the same page, which Darius noted. The animation is in Flash, so unless the original poster gets that resolved it won't be visible.

bugmd,

What are pens 3, 4 & 5?

If I have the numbering right, 4 and 5 "quoted" below are Voyager Anniversaries in Coral and Lapis celluloid. Number 2 is one of Voyager Anniversary Demos; there's another with gold furniture..

The original Voyagers were plungers -- single reservoir power fillers or whatever Visconti calls them. The Anniversary Voyagers (for the 10th anniversary of Visconti) were double reservoir.

For number 3, we'll have to await bugmd. But I can see "New York" on the band as well as "RM" on top of the cap, so I suspect it's a Rebecca Moss commissioned pen.

Good eye, the 5th one is a blue Rebecca Moss, has the stacked celluloid and is the size of the AV series of pens. I also have the green one and am keeping an eye out for the red one.

Thanks Eric and bugmd.

I have the Demo Anniversary Voyager, but it's the first time for me to see the other Anniversary Voyagers. That Rebecca Moss looks good. Great pens bugmd. I was close to getting the Novelli pen when I was in Rome.

The Wall Street Limited Edition is Double Reservoir.

So, although Visconti's own web site says it does not, it really does? Ok. So, the Visconti site is not accurate. I'm worried if I should find something affordable on ebay and the seller says it doesn't have the double reservoir -- and I buy it thinking that "all wall St. LEs have double reservoir", but the seller was correct. Because I can't go trust Visconti's own site for finding out what type of filler it does have.

Why don't you try a different browser and/or update your version of Flash?

The same problem happens in both Safari and Firefox. The problem is only with Visconti's Catalogue LE page... everything else on Visconti's site seems to work fine for me including animations etc.

No, the web site is correct in the pen area*. There are TWO versions of the Wall Street. The Wall Street Limited Edition is double reservoir. The Wall Street regular non-LE pen is C/C. If you could use a different computer to see the Limited Edition area, then you'd see that the Wall Street LE is double reservoir.

*The misleading bit is the technical area for the double reservoir linked above, which only says "Wall Street", when it should in fact say "Wall Street LE".

Bugmd's 6th photo (with 4 pens) includes all 4 colors of the double-reservoir Limited Edition Wall Street.

All Wall Street LE are double reservoir. The regular production ones are cartridge/converter. Externally, you could see some differences. The LE have a celluloid section, a ink window and silver ring near the nob. On the RE ones, the nob ring and ink window are abscent, and the section is metal.

If you want a pen with the double reservoir filling system, I suggest you drop Bryant from this forum a PM and check with him what he has available. You might get a pleasant surprise.

p.s.

I'm "watching" this topic, but when I show the list of watched topics that have changed, this one never shows up. If anyone has an idea of what to do, let me know. I've tried unwatching and then re-watching and that didn't help.

Thanks

If you go to the top right hand corner of the FPN-page, you'll find a small barr with your name, and a little downpointed arrow (above sign out and help)

Click on your name and go to the third item: my content. Here you'll find a list of all threads you posted in. You can see here easily if there are any responses. This works only if you have participated in the thread. Otherwise you'll have to follow the thread.

Yeah, I had found that, but I had been using the "watched content" / "topics" on the far right sidebar of the "forums" page. That seemed like the intended way to watch for changed topics that you're watching (since, why have such a thing on the forums front page if it didn't work). But I recently found out that THAT method isn't working. So, I guess it's pull-down and select "my content" instead. Thanks.

Oh... and clicking on the watched content link that I had been using pops it up to the point just after I last read it -- which is exactly what one wants. The pull-down that shows all of my content, and then clicking on one of those topics either (1) goes to the first post in a page, or (2) the last post... not to the point where I last read it (neither of which is what one would want).

right in front of the name of the thread is a small square. If you click on the text you go to message one, if you click on the right side where the name is of the last contributer you go to the last entry, but if you click on the small square in front you jump to the first unread message. If you have read all the little square disappears.

  • 1 month later...

And... a new but related query:

I found a note elsewhere that Pilot seems to have made (or makes) a pen with a double reservoir power filler that's "just like" the one in the Visconti.

Can anyone confirm this?

If so, which Pilot pen(s)? Are they "current" (as in retailers who post here on FPN might carry them) or do I need to look in the used market?

Thanks

Pilot makes a vacuum filler/plunger filler. It is the Pilot Custom 823. It does not have the second reservoir like the Visconti. The double reservoir filler is unique to Visconti. There are a lot of pens from different manufacturers that make a single reservoir plunger filler but not one with the two reservoirs. The Pilot will shut off the ink flow if you close the knob at the back.

Thanks very much. Now knowing which model it is I've been able to find reviews here. Looks like a very nice pen.

The fact that you can "close the knob" to stop flow to the nib seems like it might be the thing that attracted me to the Visconti double reservoir. i.e. when traveling you could stop the flow and then feel safer that it wouldn't leak on a plane.
