It looks more like a Man 200 or if the feed has fins, Man 100.

Agree, it appears to be a Man 200

I use a fountain pen because one ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to write a few reasonable words with a fountain pen.

I purchased it at a store in Berkeley, CA in the mid '80's. All along I thought it was a Gentleman but if you folks say it's a Man 200 I believe you. What differentiates the Gentleman from the Man 200?

Although they aren't too far different when comparing them to say, the Edson, there are still a large number of differences when comparing one to the other. A Google search will turn up a host of images for the Gentleman. At first glance they might look the same, but start comparing the shape of the barrel, the length of the cap, the posting area for the cap, the barrel and cap end treatments, diameter of the barrel, etc.

But I do think the question is still open from previous posters: is this a LeMan 200 or a LeMan 100? The main difference betweent these 2 is the diameter of the barral, which doesn't exactly show up so well in a photograph of only one of them. By no means is it a guaranteed give-away, but usually the 100 has fins on the feed. From your photos, we cannot see the feed.

Can you at least look at the feed and see if it's smooth or has fins, then let us know? Fins will be obvious. No need to ask what they look like. If they're on your feed, then you'll say to yourself, "Oh! So THOSE are fins! Yes, my pen has fins."

If they're not on your feed, then you'll be wondering, "Just what exactly is it I'm supposed to be looking for? What do fins looks like? Could this be a fin? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?"

as stated above there are plenty between Gent and Man but as for the 100 to 200

Man 100 5.75" long, 0.5" diameter, 1.6oz weight, finned feed.

Man 200 5.5" long, 0.375" diameter, 1.1oz weight, plain smooth feed.

From the look of the bottom of the barrel, and the bottom ring around the cap, I'd say this is a Man 100. I'm betting there are on fins on the feed. It looks like my Man 100 and does not look like my Man 200 or pics of a Gent out there. Good luck.

I have a 100 and 200 in front of me now and they are identical but scaled sizes. Unless you have handled them before or without one alongside the other it's imposible to tell the difference. IMHO
