Please allow me to join the club:

With this year's visit of the Bologna Pen Show I completed the Aero colours:

Sorry for the dark photo, they are from left: steel, teal, forest, midnight, navy, plum, burgundy, cocoa, black, black MkII.

And here, an even worst pic to show the second line of 51 Vacs:

After the four 61 you have: a Dove DJ with GF cap, Dove with Silver cap, Navy (yes, another Navy Grey Vac!), Cordovan, Cedar, India demi.

Ciao, Andrea

I was also very fortunate to be able to buy a Navy grey vac filler (no, not Dove!), also from a very kind FPN'er, which I'm also waiting for. I also need to find the Burgundy (not cordovan) vac to complete it all.

I have a Navy grey vac myself as I mentioned in the above post. When you'll receive it, would you tell me if it has the regular production marks? My Navy has no marks next to the clutch.

Tx, Andrea

I hope they don't spend all their time 'chained' to that board Andrea? You do use them?

Am I the only person who struggles to differentiate between Cordovan and the darker Burgundy?

Easiest way, check for a Blind Cap.

Really.

For those trying to get all the aerometric colors in the MK3 (or MK4 as it may be), here's a picture of all the colors I have been able to find (and hopefully the colors show up OK in the picture), all US-production, from left to right; navy blue, teal blue, turquoise, navy gray(as in the earlier aerometrics), gray, burgundy, rage red, black, avocado (same as the 45s). An strangely enough, Rage Red is not the hardest color to find...

Got it today. It's imprinted Parker England, no date code, I'll check the nib.

Addendum: It has an Usa 1946 nib, obviously a replacement, unfortunately.

OK, it's been a hard start to the week and I'm legendary for being slow on the uptake as well.... Wasn't the vac available in burgundy too?

  • 5 years later...

Kind of looks like PLUM to me. Any idea what year this pen was made?

Thanks, Pen Lady. No idea. Just got it without any specific info about year and stuff.

What does the sac guard says? '... press ribbed bar ... 6 times' or '... 4 times'?

Looks plum, though.

Thanks, Mitto. It's a 6T aerometric P51.

I know. Trying to identify the color, I did ask you what were the instructions for filling the pen on the filler shroud/sac guard of the pen.
