I have this ink. It is a very nice, bright orange, except that this ink tends to form "crud" on the nib. The solidified substance does not clog the nib, but it does tend to get everywhere and make a mess. I do not use it because of this issue. Shame, because it is a very nice color.

I am generally not a fan of orange, or orange ink, but I adore Diamine Pumpkin. Fun shading, great depth, and just an all-around fabulous ink. I never thought I'd want an orange ink, until I got a letter written with Diamine Pumpkin!

I, too, have experienced the nib crud. I don't mind it; as stated, it doesn't clog, and I don't find it falls off my nib or into the cap, so it doesn't get in my way. I DO use it in a cheap pen, but that's fine by me. (And hey, most of my pens are cheap anyway.)

How does it compare to j.herbin orange indien? Which I have, love, and hasn't done any crud-accumulating for me.

Much, much brighter, and much more saturated. But I'm biased; I find orange indien to be way too watery for my taste (even if I liked orange).

Thanks for the review. I think I'll order a bottle and give it a try.

Orange Indien is probably closer to PR Shoreline Gold with a little less yellow... I picked up a sample of just the regular Diamine Orange and I absolutely love it. Slightly more saturated than even the Pilot petit1 Apricot, and it pops more.

Apache Sunset and Blaze orange are pretty accurate to mine, if not Signum's scans are slightly lighter than what I have. Might have to give Pumpkin a try... Once my Ink Budget restores >_<

I cannot see the review pictures. However, judging by the responses I may be the only one! Is this so?

Any ideas on this, anyone?

Very nice review, thank you! I think the color looks a great deal better in that huge italic nib of yours. Very nice!

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

Ohhh ... I think I really like that ink.

Diamine pumpkin, eh?

I'll have to look and see if I have any of that in my samples

from Pear Tree Pens.

(Yes, I have ink I haven't tried yet )

Since I too use CI nibs it should be loads of fun!

Wonderful review!! Thank you very much. I tried this ink a while back and loved it except the crud creeped me out so I have not used it since!

This is a great ink! I don't like the color orange much, but I do love the fall and Halloween in particular so I ordered a bottle of Diamine Pumpkin from Goulet Pens. I received it today and I can't stop playing with this ink.

The shading is dramatic and ranges from almost yellow to almost red. The color is bright and bold yet easy to read, it almost seems to glow from within :) The colors are very much like a carved pumpkin lit up by a candle.

This may be my favorite color of all time.

Wow! I'm so glad to hear you like it so much. It's so great to hear when you get to try a color you wouldn't have normally thought to try, and you end up loving it. To me, exploring color is the best part about using fountain pens. Pumpkin is a great color, it really is.
