Vintage Parker 45 Rollerball Identification

Can someone help me identify the era of this Parker 45? I purchased some of these from Europe and was told it is a Parker 45 Rollerball pen. However, when I insert a current Parker rollerball refill, the end of the refill sticks way out. They were made in the USA.

Are they worth anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Could it be a Parker Touche? That was a felt marker that fed from the regular cartridge refill. It was more of a "transitional" product that I think went away when the Systemark series was introduced, and the Systemark line pretty much disappeared in favor of the Rollerballs offered in most of the major Parker lines today. I know the current rollerball will fit a Systemark, I don't think it fits the Touche opening.

Hi,

It is a 45, but I am guessing probably a fibre tip rather than RB. They don't make fibre tip refills anymore but I think you can buy an adapter to fit an RB refill, although I have never managed to find one.

nxn96 is correct with the id, it is a Parker Touche, if it were a Parker 45 fibre/felt tip it would have a groove in the chrome collar at the nib end of the section, this enables the cap to click into place

Sadly, both models are of little value as refills are no longer made and current refills don't fit.

Something I'm curious about though, are the barrel and cap compatable with the P45 fountain pen? Maybe someone can shed some light.

I believe so. I tried "swapping" a few and they seemed to fit fine. That's not surprising, since I imagine Parker wanted to have as many standardized parts as possible across the 45 line.

I just swapped them out too. The barrel and the cap will fit the Parker 45 fountain pens. The only issue is that the color would have to match the nib portion of the pen. I can send images upon request.

If anyone has any interest in them, I have apx 470 units available in three differnt colors. Black, Red and Dark blue. All come with the Chrome CT caps. Price is $2.50 each if someone takes them all. I'll throw in free shipping.

Just send me an email if interested. brian@tntdealsinc.com

Thanks!

Brian

They sure do stick out a lot - but I like that because it gives you a very uncluttered view of the tip.
