Broken Lanvin

Afternoon all,

Just received a bundle of pens and propelling pencils marked 'spares or repair' with a view to getting a few back up and running. One of which was an all-metal 'Lanvin' fountain pen.

The pen is rather nice and has never been used, however it has a nasty break in the only plastic part: the joint between nib and section:

This is also the part that the lid snaps onto, so it really needs to be a strong fix - should I use superglue or something like two-part epoxy? I assume that the broken part of the section cannot be removed as it looks to be fixed in place:

Any tips??? :(

Are you still looking for solutions? I just came across your posting and realize that I have the same pen. I bought it new in Spain some years ago and do not use it. I have only inked it once or twice and have all of the original packaging. If you are interested in buying another one like the one that you have, I would be happy to sell mine.

Thanks

I fixed the section using poly cement, but the a leak developed, making the pen unusable - it's back on my list of things to be fixed.

Thanks fro the offer, but I'll give mine another go and see what happens!

the part that broke could be the threaded collar of the nib unit. if it is, then you could buy a replacement nib unit, remove the old collar, and screw the new one in.

This is the only reference I've found to a Lanvin pen on this forum so forgive me if I ask... do you think the nib can be changed? I have just been given a brand new Lanvin but I prefer to write with italic nibs and I'd love to be able to change the nib. I don't know much about pens and I wouldn't attempt the change myself so any advice on who to ask and where to go would be very much appreciated.
