Asprey Purple Ink Review

Here's my first ink review. Asprey of London is a prominent silversmith and produces many of the same items as Hermes and Louis Vuitton produce. The notable exception being that they produce a fairly extensive line of writing instruments. Purple is their iconic color and this ink came with an Asprey FP I received many years ago. The ink is available from the Beverly Hills store.

The one thing I learned in this test is that it is definitely NOT water resistant in any way, shape or form!

The bottle is made in Italy and says VETRERIE MOD DEP FORESTA ITALIANE on the bottom in embossed glass.

Excellent review, thanks, that really is a purple.

And how can this be, because he is the Kwisatz Haderach.

Welcome. Great first ink review. Funny thing is that I've been looking for a waterproof purple the last 30 minutes. :) My research continues.

What do you mean when you say "It sticks in F NOS..?" I was not sure. Thanks, j

  • 4 years later...

Coming to this rather late.... but given that the pen is essentially an Onoto, the ink is highly likely to be Diamine. Try their Violet, or Amazing Amethyst, for a close approximation to this - or for a better colour still, their Imperial Purple. All are available rather cheaply direct from the manufacturer.
