pb2 made one of these for me - this exact pen, same size, colour, etc., etc. I had never owned a 51 and thought I never would. But I LOVE mine. This is a wonderful pen and someone needs to snap it up.

Sure ~ the beauty of the cursive italic nib, is that the "sweet spot" is usually easy to find and maintain within seconds. It has smoothed corners so it does not have the "hang ups" of regular straight Italics and one does not have to hold it a certain way as often is the case with oblique italics.

 

IOW, it's easy as well as fun to use. It gives your nib line a variation without having to engage "flex". Most of us who use this type of nib believe it improves our handwriting quite nicely.

 

The Pendleton Point , smooth, crisp, cursive italic, has had many favorable responses and reviews. It has become a specialty as well as an terrific alternative to those great and worthy nib masters who are often booked up for months in advance.

I find the way I hold the pen to be much less critical with pb2's nibs. I had a couple of crisp italic factory nibs that I could just never get the hang of. But the 51 that I have is as smooth as silk.

I have my 3rd Pendle Point pen coming. One of them is always inked and in rotation. They are some of my favourite nibs. I highly recommend not only Pendleton Point nibs, but Pendleton is great to do business with.

 

I find them as easy to write with as the stubs that I have - only they have much greater line variation. Somehow Pendleton gets them almost as smooth as a stub but almost as crisp as a pure italic. (I find them crisper for variation than cursive).

I just received the Parker 51 in the mail today. It is a beautiful pen. Pendleton is great to do business with! I ordered the J. Herbin Le de The ink for it that was shown in the pictures. A great combination.
