Eagle Pen ~ NY Company

OK, Here we go again... what can anyone tell me about the Eagle Pen Company in NYC. I remember reading about it somewhere, but can't for the life of me remember where...

Here are pics of the pen I am interested in.

YES, I did buy it... the price was toooo toooo good to pass up...

Description is PEN IS 4.565 LONG CAPED AND 5.95 IN THE POSTED WRITING POSITION AND .500 OD CAP,,,,,,,AND READS ON THE BARREL ,,,,,EAGLE PENCIL CO NEW YORK, USA

I don't know much, but I know they are an old company - going back the 1850s. I think they started out as the Eagle Pencil Company, later the Eagle Pen and Pencil Company. They also made an economy line called Epenco. I believe they were good quality pens. They are perhaps most noted for a line of early glass-cartridge pens that go back to the early 1900s. They later became the Berol corporation, and finally were assimilated by the Borg - I mean became part of the Stanford family - in 1995.

 

That was a nice looking pen - I had my eye on that auction as well.
