I'll try to get better pictures of the pen itself up here, as well. The black matte finish of my Trident seems to eat light, just like velvet! I do hope this gives those who are curious about the Trident some kind of an idea how it writes.

Super review, Leigh.

I bought my Trident because I am fascinated by the nib (boys' toys ?) - and have yet to be disappointed with it.

Thanks,

What gorgeous handwriting you have, Leigh--and your sketch is so good!

I've long wanted a Trident, for much the same reasons Ruaidhrí mentions. Do you have an idea of the price range one could expect?

Dan,

I got mine for £37 (just under $72) + postage, on eBay from tatandmoretat (pauldarren@hotmail.com).

Mint & stickered, no converter - got one of those from a chum on PT for just the postage smile.gif

Good hunting smile.gif

Regards,

Ruaidhrí

Edit - bought Nov 2005

Very nice. Will my writing look so nice if I get one of those too? Nah. Didn't think so. Still might give one a try though.

As usual, your writing is a joy to look at. But ohhhh, I've put myself on an ink diet and have been trying to resist that Caran d'Ache Storm.

You say its flow helps skipping pens? And it looks lovely.

I love the shading I get with Storm, especially with broad/italic-nibbed pens, from a light eggplant to deep purple. smile.gif It's helped a balky Aurora Ipsilon and a not-so-obedient no-name pen become better performers. biggrin.gif Yes, I know, I'm not helping! smile.gif

Well, buying it eventually was inevitable -- it's just that I tend to bundle my purchases! My excuse always is that it's to consolidate shipping charges, but those bundles can get quite fat! laugh.gif

I read "shading" -- and I'm there! drool.gif Thanks! I think. ohmy.gif

(I was on an emoticon diet, too. headsmack.gif So much for self-discipline. laugh.gif )

What inks have you found to be the "best" fit/feel for your Trident? I tend to like a rich black and intend to use a recently purchased Trident for a mix of sketching and daily use. (And to add to the unanimous praise - beautiful handwriting! Me - somehow I got stuck in third grade so settle for a barely legible printing...).

Thanks for the sample! When I look at the ink, the first thought was how much like Noodlers nightshade it looks (one of my favorites).
