Very interesting--thanks for posting this. 31,500 yen is about $333. Wonder how that compares with Japanese list price of current 1911 or Prof Gear.

The list price of ordinary 1911 or Prof Gear is 21,000 Yen.

Hmm, that price doesn't seem too bad. Wonder what the US street price will end up being.

Great news! Thank you! I might hold out for a Professional Gear or KOP Pro Gear version, though.

Thank you for posting the image. It's too bad the multiple ink windows didn't make their way onto the pen.

I hope the ink window will keep MB lawyers from starting lawsuits ...

Anyway, I hope there will be a flat-top piston filler, too.

I like the ink window being visible when the pen is capped and the double gold band around it.

It was about time for a Japanese maker to have a piston filler in the range.

Thanks for the information!!! Finally at long last, a piston filler Sailor 1911!!! The anniversary version was modeled on KOP correct? Not sure if Sailor will be launching the KOP version as well....Imagine a piston filler 1911 mounted with one of those Nagahara Togi emperor nibs...What a holy grail pen it will make !

Roger

That's great news.

I hope there will be a rhodium trimmed version. If so, I'm getting it as soon as it hits the market.

I hope there will be a Prof. Gear/Sapporo shaped version sooner than later.

Yes, odd that they would start with the 1911 since it seems they've been focusing most of their efforts on the Sapporo/Pro Gear series (new finishes, materials, etc). There were even rumors that Sailor was going to discontinue the 1911 a while back.

Ah, pity that I live on the other side of the globe.

Please share your impressions when/if you see the pen.
