Conway Stewart has been chosen by the Traditional Arts Ltd to commission a fountain pen bearing an exclusive design by artist Amber Khokhar.

This is the first time that Traditional Arts Ltd has worked with a pen manufacturer and the result of this collaboration is the ‘Arabesque’, a sterling silver hand crafted fountain pen.

The Arabesque fountain pen is crafted from a solid rod of hallmarked sterling silver. LE #1 was presented to HRH The Prince of Wales for his 60th birthday celebrations.

Limited to just 10 pieces of fountain pen and roller ball writing modes, the Arabesque is based on a brand new model design; same length as the Churchill and a little slimmer in width.

Kind regards,

Mary Burke

It sure is, but is it a good pen worth the money?

Price point? 10 pens sounds like it's priced above a YOL Grand :hmm1:

Lovely pen

Hi,

This pen goes beyond a new engraving design. It is about the cooperation between the Traditional Arts Ltd, the artist and HRH Prince Charles.

Here is a link to view the web page for information: http://www.mvburke.com/corporatefldr/traditionalartsltd.htm

The price for the limited edition fountain pen or roller ball is $2,500. This is not a sales post, it is purely for information -- CS cannot sell this edition to any retailer or consumer.

Kind regards,

Mary Burke

I'd guess that this pen will become more handsome with age as successive waves of tarnish and cleaning (and daily use) fill in the engraving.

(Not sarcasm, I think that the pen is too "new looking" right now. As it ages it will take on a patina that enhances its beauty).

Is that a sarcastic comment?

I think he meant patina that accrues with age when the object is used. The engravings will not get cleaned/polished via ordinary means of cleaning and thus will get darker as the silver oxidizes.

Thanks, Mary. This is definitely the sort of pen that would slide me over into a higher end CS. Just put in for my first italic broad, so we'll see if I end up being a regular in here. :hmm1:

And I have to concur with the other poster - tarnish actually increases the beauty of silver pens for me, as it brings out the contrast in the pattern. Hence my YOL Grand pens as perrenial favorites.
