Smallest Lucky Curve?

I'm assuming this must be the smallest.

Opened a parcel of pens yesterday morning

and this little beauty jumped out at me.

3 1/2 inches of perfectly formed beauty.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted some questions yesterday about a Lucky Curve that I found in my basement. I didn't know what it was called. Mine is not in the good shape yours is but If you look at my post the pen is shown. It's the same size as yours. Do you know how much these are worth? I'm thinking about geting a newre nib for it and have the ink filler looked at.

My post was at 8:30 Feb 20 called parker ring top

Yours is beautiful!!

Hi Max,

That's a great little set, officially called a Parker Duette Set. These little gold-filled vest pocket pens are great looking and very helpful to have if you attend any black tie events. I have one that I use on a watch fob when I go to black tie dinners.

However, I'm sorry to report that this model is not the smallest Lucky Curve. There are a couple that are smaller. As a frame of reference, the photo below shows a gold filled vest pocket similar to yours flanked by two Jack Knife Safety Baby 20s (actually, one is a 20-1/2). You'll see that the 20 without the ring is a smidge shorter.

However, it doesn't stop there. Parker made a Lady Baby 20 that wasn't cataloged. It is slightly less diameter and slightly shorter. Here's a photo of one on the left next to a normal Baby 20.

That's not the end of the story, however it is the end of my photos to back up the story. Parker made a vest pocket Model 45 in both black hard rubber and red hard rubber in the 1910s. This is the pen with an ivory or jeweled top and mother-of-pearl inserts. This vest pocket pen was about 3-inches long, so roughly the length of the Lady Baby above.

The winner as the smallest Lucky Curve however probably goes to the non-production RHR mini pen that was housed inside the Parker Ultra Giant. That pen was only a couple of inches in length.

All the best,

John

Cheers John for your guidance on this one.

I'd have even forked out money for the box alone.

Beautiful little nod to the art nouveau movement on the corners.

Sometimes a box is not just a box.

These boxes can be tough to find in decent condition. Yours looks pretty good. Congrats on having the full package.
