Waterman Nib Imprints

I've previously posted these photos at other sites, but for those who do not visit there, I'm posting them here for general enjoyment and edification. Fellow collector JRG started me on this project and has identified variations in his collection and graciously sent me pens and nibs to photograph for this mini-study. Neither of us have any of the very early "rare" nibs, but we do have a nice assortment of varieties.

In Fountain Pens and Pencils, Fischler & Schneider show photos of various Waterman nibs. We are attempting to expand on their reference work.

F&S state that New York Imprint nibs were in use uto 1918, when they were replaced by the "REG U.S. PAT. OFF." imprint. We'll start with some New York variations.

Pens currently holding these nibs (or holders with these pens to use older terminology) are:

NY-0 22, BCHR (3 fissure feed, no Globe in barrel imprint)

NY-1 12, MHR

NY-2 22, BCHR

NY-3 22, BCHR

NY-4 12PSF, BHR

NY-5 0852 1/2V, BCHR

Next in the progression are the "REG" imprint nibs.

REG-1 52 1/2, BCHR

REG-2 452 1/2 V

REG-3 52, BCHR

REG-4 0552 1/2 V

REG-5A Olive Ripple desk pen

REG-5B 52, Red Ripple (No Ripple imprint)

These are all #2 nibs to eliminate variations that are due to nib size. Next up will be some of the larger size nibs.

Hope this is of some interest and value to vintage Waterman collectors.

That NY-0 looks beautiful... Does anyone have one? Has anyone written with one?

The NY-0 is in my 22 Taper Cap. Very fine and very flexible. I have used it, but not recently. Here's a photo of the pen:
