Help identify old Platignum FP?

So, I recently scored an old pen and pencil set off a local auction site, and I was wondering what it was. It claims to be a Platignum pen, but it's certainly not a contemporary one. Does anyone know what this is? Here's a pic (larger one attached):

Hi Jon,

Just found your post when looking for some Platignum info. Have you found anything out about these pens yet as I have just got hold of a couple in a bag of spares and would like to find out more.
