I always enjoy coming back to this thread!

I do too.

I have the same pen cup on my desk at home. It is currently filled with:

two Pentel Forte mechanical pencils

30+ year old Cross ballpoint

far older dip pen with nice flexy steel nib

1926 Parker Duofold Jr.

1924 Sheaffer Flat Top

Waterman Phileas rollerball

Platinum 3776

Waterman CF

two Aurora Optimas

This desk is also far older than the one in my office that is posted somewhere back around page 18 or 19. I saw it in a thrift shop and immediately wanted it. When I got it home I found some old papers in it that belonged to a family who ran a retail business downtown years and years ago. So long ago in fact, that the family name is in stone at the top of the building where the store used to be. I located one of the descendants and gave them the papers.

I may get my camera out and take a picture of this desk one of these days.

You may recognize the screensaver - it's a download from Richard Binder's website, he has many more available.

Didn't know about the wallpapers on Richard's site. Thanks for the tip

yes a favorite thread:) great lamp find.

mind if I inquire...W. Morris wallpaper? and by any chance is the mirror syroco or burwood?

if i ever dig through my moms boxes back to my own environment, it will show the mix of victorian/edwardian girl living in a eclectic danish modern world.

I am going to repost my office desk picture, now that I have learned how to resize photos.

This was taken back in the spring before a lightning strike cooked that Gateway pc. I now use a Dell Studio laptop at work.

Here is the shot of my pen tray and ink drawer, resized. Believe it or not, as much as I sell and trade, I still have all those pens! The first Duofold Jr. from the left is being parted out, but the rest still see regular action.

Great looking desk Doug, and a nice collection as well!

evercool - I just discovered it myself. Glad i could help.

p2p - the wallpaper is ancient, probably 50+ years. And the mirror was my SO's grandmother's (it's actually a framed lithograph) - made of mahogany with plaster decorations. One has been broken and I'm going to re-cast it in resin one of these days.

ETA - the Levenger pen cup and the machined humidor cylinder were each ten dollars at our favorite thrift shop and the lamp was $25 at the antique mall. We are definitely bargain hunters and can spot the interesting stuff from across the room!

Thanks. I don't really think my wife thought we'd be using it to store pens when we commissioned it.

Soloworx -- I really like your drop front desk. It looks old. Is it antique/vintage? It would be nice to see a close up of some of the items on your desk. I'm always intrigued by the personal items on peoples desks.

It's not an antique escritoire, Nibby. I bought it brand new in the 1980s for my wife, although it has that 'old' look. The wood boxes on top of the desk are pen cases. A sample view is shown in the third photo that I added.

This desk sits in our bedroom and is our 'analogue' desk. All other digital stuff (iMacs and MacBook Air) is in another room. I update my journals and do my practice writing at the end of the day.

Soloworx, what is in the black case next to your desk? I am always interested in what guitars others are playing.

The male line of my family are known for sloppiness of desk. So rather than show you my home or office desk, I'll show you the desk where I do the bulk of my writing.

First, the mobile desk for schlepping my pens, paper, laptop, and research:

Second, the desk itself. Quite desk-like, don't you agree? Nothing special...

...until you zoom out! (Apologies for the poor homebrew pano)

It's a wonder I get anything done on writing days. I'd rather be playing! In case you're wondering, this is the fourth floor of the Salt Lake City Public Library, looking southwest toward the Wastach Mountains.

Sorry for the month-late reply, Doug. This was one of the threads that 'fell through the cracks', I guess. That black case holds my Ibanez GhostRider solid body electric guitar, an hobby that takes fourth fiddle to my pens, tennis and cycling.
