THE BEAUTIFUL NIB OF AURORA KONA

In 1980 AURORA, in collaboration with GIORGETTO GIUGIARO, a famous Italian designer (Alfa Romeo, Maserati cars and Nikon cameras, for example) produced KONA pens.

The line, inspired by a tapered fluted Doric Greek column, included Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen and Rollerball Pen; the fountain pen is cartridge or convertor filled, with an original 14 k gold nib that reminds me the old ink quill or (remaining in the classical theme) the point of a lance; the longitudinal grooves on its surface give it an elegant light\shade effect. Note also, in the reverse picture, the design of the feed.

The pen was produced in titanium finish (the first Italian pen using this material), red lacquer and black lacquer, all with gold filled trims.

Interesting, to say the least. I'm not warming up to it at all.

I hope Mr. Giugiaro doesn't go to work for Stipula any time soon.

Wow, the nib reminds me of a squid's head. :)

I think it's cool, though I would probably own at most one of them.

I appreciate the design elements individually. Once they are put together, they don't work for me.

Love it! Particularly the Titanium finish one.

Anybody know which convertor fits the Kona ?

I tried the convertor in my Talentum, but no joy.

Slim barrel, you can try with Hastil's one, should fits.

Do you have vintage AURORA or WILLIAMSON,

italian WWII militaria for sale or trade? Please contact me.

Looking for 1950'S AURORA 88?

Other vintage italian pens?
