Harley Davidson fountain pen

The nib looks like a Waterman and the box says Made in France. My Waterman cartridges fit in it, but that's not much evidence.

I'll attach some photos I took tonight and perhaps someone here will see it and know whether it is made by Waterman or not.

Either way, I will continue to enjoy the way it writes - it is one of my favourites. So smooth.

Like, I have one of those! Mine is black. This pen is certainly not made by Waterman. It is, in fact, made by Stypen, although a Waterman converter fits in nicely. I know this, as there is a thread in the "Writing Instruments" forum, started by your truly, about this pen.

Yes, that particular model is by Stypen. Waterman made Harley-Davidson licensed pens after them. If I 'm not mistaken (and I could be), H-D pens are now being made by Retro 51.

So here's what happened
While you were nappin'
I just went out for a snack
I was feelin' famished
And then I vanished...
But now I'm back

If you do a search on Ebay for Waterman harley davidson fountain pens you will come up with several hits.

Here is the ebay item # for one of them: 350017488697. The metal case that the pen comes in says "powered by waterman"

There are Harley-Davidson fountain pens made by Waterman, but they look like the Phileas/Kultur, not like the one shown above.

Look here: eBay

This one doesn't look like a Phileas and it's being advertised as Waterman.

Item number: 130087712653

Thanks!

Stypen, eh. I should look into what else this company has produced since this one works so well.

Off to read that other thread...

Mystery solved. Thanks again.

I have always wondered the same thing ... I come up on quite a few of these on Ebay

I really don't think these are Waterman pens ...

Waterman's Harley pens are much different. They came in Waterman outer boxes with Waterman labels, and unusual cases.

Waterman's Harley's are:

The Racing series (Phileas-based body, comes in a tin box)

Three different finishes: Flags, Racing, Flames

The Horizon (Made to look like the kickstand, the case looks like the gas tank)

Available in orange, red, black, blue, chrome

The Combustion (comes in a case made like a headlight)

Available in black, steel blue/gray

On eBay, montgomerystationery sells the Waterman Harley pens. Other eBay sellers are selling them at super discounts. Yes, I have several. :bunny01:

"... because I am NOT one of your FANZ!" the INTP said to the ESFJ.

I have one of these as well and wondered who made it. you're right it writes like a dream. Mine is burgundy and i also have a matching twist top ball point. I've had mine for at least 15 years and it is the proud holder of my green ink supply.

I have a Burgundy Metallic FP of this kind. One of my best pens in writing.

It needs some repair. Anyone knows who can help me?

If you specify what is your issue, or even better, ask for advice in the Repairs subforum, you may be able to fix it yourself. The pen is a nice writer and well built.
