The Pocket Inkstand, and The Traveling Inkwell.

 

Patent no. 688,066 is a pen and pencil case, penknife, and traveling inkwell all in one. And here's the first Waterman's traveling inkwell, patent no. 474,940. It was pictured with rounded ends, but was produced with a flat bottom, so that it could stand up.

Interesting to know that it was indeed procuded. For many of these wacky patents it would be nice to know how many were indeed converted into products. Thanks.
