Nib Size(S)

I have just acquired a 444 (but may stand corrected).

 

It has no nib size stamp on the section, so how do you Sheafferers identify their size.

 

It looks fine or extra fine.

Many nibs are unmarked so people generally judge them on the line they lay down.

On many Sheaffers the original nib size (and often model information) was only found on a chalk mark, band, tag or sticker.
