Cool Pen Stand

Hi all

I picked up this antique pen stand recently. It dates back to the beginning of the last century. Although it was originally for dip pens, it certainly works with fountain pens. It is brass with a cast iron base an has a nib cleaning brush. I realise that it's probably better to store pens upright but mine get played with quite a bit.

Very nice....am missing that.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Modern pen stands like this are being made in wood acrylic and metal. Picture below is a pewter Tanco stand sold by Fahrney's Pens (price $125 USD).

Are the bits that hold the pen made of metal?
