Ever Seen A Similar Desk Stand?

I don't know why but I seem to have this urge to snap up desk stands and ink wells even though I don't want to collect them. But I was pleasantly surprised when I went to pick this one up at a local Auction after leaving a commission bid (based entirely on a not very good catalogue photo).

Well, it is Victorian, it is a Tunbridge Ware and Rosewood piece, and slightly larger than most I've come across. But what surprised me is the built-in writing slope which I've never come across before.

I do actually like the look of the Diamine Bottles in place

It does need a bit of TLC,but I think this will be a keeper and so I definitely have to sell another one!

I have some nice inkwells and stands, but this one with the writing slope makes my mouth :puddle: :puddle: .....

Good find. Do you wish to tell us what you paid for it?

Thanks for showing

Oh My! That is drop dead gorgeous! I have always wanted a slope or something like that. Someday...

Thanks for all the lovely comments, and in response to RMN, 'more than I should have but less than I expected'. It wasn't cheap (the exact same price that I got for selling a 1990s 146 on the same day) and there was apparently a lot of commission interest as well as from the floor. The Auctioneer said that he'd never seen one with an integrated slope before.

I would be very happy with this one.... (no money for it for some time, so I'll have to stay unhappy....oh well... less than very happy.

Enjoy yours

 :notworthy1: I like the border work.

The one I should have bought, I didn't. The other two I've seen in live auctions since were not as classy.
