Your Handwriting Alphabet

Anneleen

Recommended Posts

I often change letters in my handwriting when I see one in other people's that I like a lot. Post your usual handwriting in an alphabet with both upper and lower case letters, so we can maybe inspire each other!

I'll go first:

(I know there is a 'What does your handwriting look like?' topic on here, but this one has a different purpose. Mods can of course close this topic if they feel it is superfluous.)

This is a really good topic and I will follow it with interest. I have realised that for me it is more difficult to write the alphabet in a nice way than to write a text. I will contribute if I get my alphabet right.

Thank you for that! I was a bit nervous, opening a topic as a newbie :)

I would like to encourage you to post your alphabet as it is now. This isn't a 'Who has the fanciest handwriting' contest. Any input is appreciated!

Interesting topic...

When I was at school (1962), and we were taught how to write, we started with pencils but moved to ink, nibs and nibholders after a few weeks. The shape of the letters we had to learn (as I can remember after 50+ years) is as follows:

My writing is very different now, I'll add a sample later...

BTW: if you find some letters missing, it's because we were taught the Italian alphabet has only 21 letters... ;)

Here's mine for what it's worth. I wrote it fast as though I was taking notes. I was using a Delta Journal with a Fusion stub nib.

Here's my everyday handwriting, readable if extremely boring! :P

Not my absolute neatest, but a good measure of what it looks like day-to-day. I haven't really changed it since I first learned to write, maybe I should look to neaten it up a bit.

Mine using a Semi-flex pen Custom Heritage 91 Soft Medium I'll be getting a Noodler's soon so I do not know what will happen to the Soft-Medium once I have a Noodler's pen

But typically I still use the Palmer methods and it has not changed ever since I was thought to use it

I've really been enjoying seeing these alphabets! Thanks everyone.

Algester: I will have to steal that capital F. Mine's been bothering me for ages!

Fascinating how our personality takes over when we write! I have been trying for years to write like the model images in books, and my quirks still come out as I write! Thanks to all who have shared their writing styles with the rest of us. Here is mine to add to the catalogue:

Here is my writing, just start using fountain pen to improve my writing few months ago. Still have some inconsistency and lack of that "flow".

Great ink color!

Absolutely! I expected a very bright pink colour, but this one is leaning towards purple, which is also my favourite colour. win/win situation!

I might be able to post mine later on. My handwriting is very, very boring but I guess more legible. I get compliments about it but mine just looks like everybody else's handwriting.

Sorry for the poor image quality. My digital camera needs to be charged and I haven't dug up the charger yet. I write in my bastardized cursive depending on mood. Usually for letter writing or journaling. Everything else is in the more standard script, which is likely why it's neater.

I'm also very new to using a fountain pen for more than trying to emulate fancy scripts. ;)
