Where To Get Spare Parts For Mb 146 Fountain Pen

Guys, I need your help.

I have a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 146 fountain pen and the piston rod is broken.

I found out that I can unscrew the end of the cap until it falls off and now I cannot refill the ink for my pen.

So I called Mont Blanc service center and they told me that the cost of the repair will be 200 dollars (USD)

I was wondering if there is anywhere that I can get the spare parts for the piston of my pen.

Can I fix it on my own or something like glue the piston rod together or something.

Please comments and suggest what should I do.

P.S. I have some photos of my problem :((

I could be wrong but I don't think you'll get authentic parts from the link Paul posted above. I don't see the point in buying a luxury item only to replace part a f it with cheap non-authentic ones.

Just remember that it's not possible to just buy authentic parts unless they are second hand. Montblanc don't sell parts to there customers.

I would still suggest sending it back, especially if the OP is not confident in getting the broken bits out of the cap.

Pattern parts are not a real issue especially as some of those sold by the supplier in the link are better made than those supplied by MB.

There was a 146 with a broken screw section which I thought would be a good project so I bid on it and did a search on here on repairing broken pistons . It is very much a specialist job getting the broken screw out of the cap and a new one in. I did not counterbid on the pen

Use the search facility and decide if you are game to try before buying parts. Someone here could suggest someone who could do it .

Hi

I suspect even Montblanc don't try getting the spring clip out when a pen is returned to them for a new piston shaft and just fit a new cap/shaft unit as getting the clip out often damages the cap so its not worth the trouble to mess around with it.

Paul is correct.I had the same problem as you did with a 149 (well the entire piston section had broken off and was missing when I received it) and MB repaired it for £60, came back looking as new.
