Diamine Cult Pens Deep Dark Purple

I'm not really a purple fan. I do think this ink looks fantastic though, especially the green sheen and the texture from my Pilot Parallel 6mm.

No complaints with flow or lubrication. Water resistance is not great, but could leave something legible behind. Time will tell whether it's a pain to clean...

How does it compare to Diamine Eclipse? Love the ink though and am looking forward to receiving my order.

Thanks so much for posing this!

Thanks for this  Just back from my holidays and have only inked a single pen with this one yet, but I do find it quite free-flowing, almost runny even. It threatens to overwhelm my trusty Safari though it just manages to avoid it.

Try this ink in a dry writer if you have one lying around.... :)

And I like the colour. Not sure if it is love yet, but give the relationship time and feelings might deepen....

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

Thank you for the review. Hmm, I like this color. Seems to be a solid purple. Reminds me a bit of Noodler's Purple Martin; although, it doesn't appear to have the dusty quality of Purple Martin.

Hi Mike

I have a spare 30ml bottle of the DD Purple. Would you like me to pop it in the post to you?

Ohhh... yes, please!

A. I love the heck out of that ink colour... plus...

B. I'd then have it even faster than my Lad in Shropshire (well, maybe...)

Update: yes, it's a pain to flush. Almost regret putting it in the Waterman Carene, but the purple complements the amber and gold nicely.

I posted the DDP to Mike today but I asked for it to go via Azerbaijan, so you can still beat him to it :D

Ooooo gorgeous!!!!! I sure hope that there are perfect color match to this ink, that is more readily available on this side of the pond. Unless... I just bite the bullet and pay the international shipping....

  • 3 years later...

Thanks for the review. I've used it for a bit now, and it's a truly enjoyable ink. It has very slow dry times from my Jinhao X750 but did considerably better with my Pilot Elite 95s. I've not had any notable cleaning issues as reported by some users, but then I have yet to use it in a demonstrator. When it's put down wet, it looks like a fairly solid black with a purple hue underneath, which I like a great deal. Otherwise, on other nibs, the purple is more pronounced, as shown in your test, which is nice too. I've also found it to be a reasonably well behaved ink. I definitely would not be without a bottle of this.
