A Croxley Dickinson

i'd always wanted to have a british-made croxley dickinson pen, partly because of its distinctive parker-ish arrow pen, and i've also always been a sucker for golden-brown pens (marbled, mottled, tortoise), so when this one came up today on ebay buy-it-now, i couldn't say no:

it was advertised as having a medium nib and i would've been happy with that, given how the pen was in great shape; but when i scrutinized the ebay pics more closely after buying the pen, i saw that i was in for a pleasant surprise:

not bad, i think, for $60 BIN ;)

i finally received the pen yesterday herein manila in a batch of 11 pens, and the croxley was easily the standout in the batch. it's absolutely mint, and all i needed to do was to realign the lever with the nib. the nib is a gorgeously smooth BB stub.

it's actually almost as thick as, and just slightly shorter than, a duofold international:

the imprint is crisp and clear:

and how can this parker fanboy not dig those arrows?

I have one of these in a boring green (as compared to your beauty) and the nib was awful when I got it. Had to send it to my nib guy to sort it out. But your nib is...oo-la-la!

They are lovely pens. I have been using my black version this week which has a slightly flexy medium nib. Your pen puts it in the shade though with that wonderful celluloid and stub nib.

Well done, a great buy.
