My First Parker 61

Today walking by the streets of Buenos Aires I found this incredible Parker 61 MKII, the pen it's almost new with EF nib and has the chalk mark, it's engraved with a name and with the date of 31-12-74- this pen was made in Argentina, manufactured until 1976. was very luxury in those years, and the jewelers engraved as free for special dates.

The pen was inked and works really fine.

always looking...always finding!!

That's a beautiful pen. When i was at University, I found a Cross Ballpoint that was engraved, "Valerie Reddick". I looked her up in the local phone book and the university phone book and there was no one with that name, so I kept the pen and used it. Subsequently, I lost it myself and I'm sure it gained another user. To make a long story short, no one knows or cares whose name is on your pen. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Wow! Where did you find it? In an antique shop, or just on the street? If you found it on the street, it's possible someone out there is upset at losing their 61. Nevertheless, congratulations. The 61 is a great pen.

Interesting, there are two holes by the nib instead of the arrow.

The Parker 61 produced in Argentina had two unique features: An aerometric filler (not capillary nor c/c) and two small metallic dots (called "eyes" here) instead of the traditional arrow over the nib.

well... I bought in..... I think the best word it's "pawn shop" like the programs of history channel, in the center of the city there's a street called Libertad, in this street there's a lot of this kind of shops, you can find: art pieces, used rolexs, jewelry, gold items. they buy and sell, this particular shop has a lot of cross century and gold ballpoint, this particulary has a huge stock of old dupont lighters, but in the bottom appeared this shinny gold cap! there's a lot of parker 51 custom, but very used. people don't buy this items so the pens get dirty un the front window of the shop, I'm gonna try to get a picture of this street. prices: from $40 to $100 us.
