First Three Kitless

Sorry for the poor pictures. I have to add pen photography to the learning curve. The fist pen is a clipless green acrylic with an El Grande kit nib and section. I used a 10X1 tap for the section to body threads and a 12X.8 triple start tap and die for the cap to body threads.

The second pen has a #5 Schmidt nib and feed. I used 9X.75 tap and die for the section to body threads and 12X.8 triple start tap and die for the cap to body threads. The blank material is an acrylic acetate called Tropical Rain Forest.

The third pen also has a #5 Schmidt nib and feed.I still need to make a cap and finish the end of the body for this one. I used 9X.75 tap and die for the section to body threads and 12X.8 triple start tap and die for the cap to body threads. The blank material is an acrylic acetate called Purple Rain.

Excellent!

I really like the first one -- the form and the blank are both just my taste. (I think I have a couple of pieces of that acrylic waiting for the day I'm competent enough to make a nice pen from them.)

  • 1 month later...

another bunch of great pens  thanks for sharing

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time
