Diamine China Blue

Thanks to a sample swap from Fabienne, I have the pleasure to use this well-behaved ink.

I'm using a Plume Chicago dip pen nib in this review, along with a quick line using a Kaweco Sport 1.5 calligraphy nib. I've included a few color comparisons below since my scans never come out accurate. The color on my paper is a little bit deeper, or a touch darker, than what appears on my screen. Shading is visible using the Kaweco 1.5 nib, and the lighter portions of the letters are not that "bright" or "neon" in real life. It is a softer, powder blue. Like my other Diamine inks, China Blue is well-behaved using my dip pen (unlike the J. Herbin Bleu Pervenche as you can see). Using fine point dip pens and this script style, shading is never apparent and produces a deeper color than a normal fountain pen because more ink is released.

So far this is a nice ink. Using a fountain pen, it reminds me of Bleu Nuit... but better behaved.

Underrated but a really nice ink. Very pleasing to the eye.
