Pelikan M200

Recommended Posts

After asking for some advice on FPN and looking around at some different pens, I've decided that I'm going to get a Pelikan M200 as my second pen. I really like the blue marble colour, but I've only been able to find black and green marble for sale. Was the blue marble limited edition or discontinued or something?

I don't think it was limited but I don't think it's available any more. I've a green marble one and it's a great pen. The M nib is quite flexible too so I get reasonable line variation. Considering the nibs are about £20, they're excellent.

Thanks- I thought so, just thought I'd check. Now I just have to decide whether I want pretty green marble or black which will go well with all the inks :P

Best I can tell, they are only making Green Marble and Black in the 200 Tradition. I just bought a Green Marble and it looks as good as my stripped M400. I would love to see some more 200 color options.

If you're very lucky, you could find a NOS blue marbled M200 too (here with the yellow M200 and a vintage 400)...

Fahrney's Pens in Washington D.C has the Pelican 200 blue, but it's only available with an italic medium nib, which is exactly what I was looking for (I'm an italic nib lover). I ordered one yesterday, $123.00.

At the risk of blowing my own trumpet I have a new M200 in blue marble with a very nice nib for sale in the Classified section if people are still looking for one, price includes shipping

I've seen some blue marbled M200 pens on eBay. Keep looking, you'll find one. These pens were made in large quantities, so no real danger of them getting scarce at this time.
