Anatomy Of A Fake Mont Blanc Skeleton Fountain Pen

Im a huge MONT BLANC fan and ive owned several mont blanc pens in the past. You just cant beat the quality of a GENUINE mont blanc pen. Here i show you a few detailed pictures of a FAKE mont blanc skeleton fountain pen. The pen tries to replicate the mont blanc 333 skeleton fountain. The skeletonised shell is thicker on the fake. The fake uses a piston convertor. The underneath of the clip doesnt say PIX. No serial number or the words GERMANY engraved around the top of the clip. The fake is photographed next to a GENUINE 75th anniversary Le Grand ballpoint pen. The nib on the fake says IRIDIUM POINT PARIS lol

We can all appreciate this is a fake. However, I have always thought that if we can see this so can the counterfeiters who would then learn from their mistakes. I don't have a solution to this; just making an observation.

i just showed this for educational purposes. The counterfeiters can access millions of high quality images from the internet and this forum on montblanc pens. The fakes will never come close to the gens. The gens use high quality materials and technology. Anyone who knows about montblanc, can spot a counterfeit. You have to think, why would they try to counterfeit a pen that costs over £6000!!!. lol

I dont think fakers will try to increase the quality of their products. I think they do alright without any upgrades. I thank the OP for the lessons.

I'm convinced that the only reason fakes are not 100% indistinguishable from the originals is because whomever commissions them opted for the lower grade copy. In China you can select the grade of the item you want to reproduce, A, B or C, with A being the highest. The cost to make these pens in grade A is too high to the point that it's not that much cheaper than the original, hence most companies ask for grade C. The quality (or lack there of) of this pen, is by no means an indication of a lack of talent in China, on the contrary, Chinese workers and artists can make anything, I mean anything you ask them to. It's just a matter of price. Had this pen been commissioned as Grade A, I have no doubt in my mind that even MB won't be able to tell the difference. The only thing is the cost may be the same or even more due to tooling and the increased price of gold since the 333 was first made.
