A Simple Diy Pen And Ink Bottle Stand

One of my friends linked me to this great little DIY guide to making a wooden stand for a pen and a bottle of Parker Quink. Although, I suppose that the measurements could be adjusted to fit most bottles. Thought it was a cute design and had to share it. Take a look here.

Nice -- it looks like you mortised things to fit, then stained the ends of the tenons. Very attractive and nice work! I was going to say it would be an easy thing for a beginner to put together using hand tools until I noticed the mortises and tenons. However, since there's so little stress on it, it could just be glued together with no fancy joints.

Oh, this isn't my creation. It's an article that my friend found and kindly forwarded to me. I look forward to trying this though. I think it would make a perfect asset to my desk. Although, I'm not much of a woodworker. You don't suppose this would be too difficult to make, would you? My friend who had showed it to me made one, but he's a bit more handy than I.

The guy who made that stand posted it here on FPN:

I think he made the design free, so you can go to the site and order the materials and laser cutting and assemble it yourself. It's a very cool design!

Hope this helps!

I've got one of these on my desk at work, and it's great. The design on Ponoko has two pen rests, so there are usually two pens ready on my desk and another two by my computer...
