De Atramentis Black Edition "black-Green"

Beautiful deep evergreen-like green. I was looking for something darker than my Noodler's Green without being too bluey or brown, & this ink is wonderful. My scanner is being meh on the color correcting, but hopefully it shows up.

 

DA inks have wonderful flow/lubrication, putting down a nice wet line with little effort. Very saturated colors. Dry time was actually really good at <10 seconds, considering I was using a broad nib & the Hammermill paper tends to be on the slow side. Very minimal feather which probably wouldn't be noticeable using a finer nib. No bleeding, & the show through wouldn't inhibit using both sides of the page.

 

Not a shading ink.

 

The "Black Edition" inks come in a black glass bottle to keep out the light/sun should you decide to display your ink bottles. My bottle also has "Deepwater Obsession" printed on it above the ink name. A bit pricey at $15 35ml.

I just did a really quick test: dipped my finger in water & dragged it across some words & the swab line. A little bit of color bled, but the words weren't smeared or illegible. Not sure how it would fare from a soaking.

It's not letting me edit my original post, but as a follow up, I have noticed a whiff of chemical smell when I uncap my pen. It's not pervasive, but for any who are sensitive to chemicals or strong scents this may be an issue.

I recently acquired a sample of DA Green-Black and I must say that I'm very pleased with it so far. I've only used it a Dollar 717i but it has performed admirably on my Moleskine Cahier paper, as well as a small pocket Rhodia notebook. Water resistance is very good as well, at least on an index card under running water. Soak test of about 5 minutes is also very good.

Thank you for sharing this colour, it is beautiful! This reminds me somewhat of Diamine Sherwood Green, although I feel DA's black green is much darker.
