Is The Sheaffer Imperial With Td Fill The Zenith Of Sheaffer Quality?

The proportion is just right, an ease to cap, sturdy clip, efficient filling mech, and high quality material (sterling silver), beautiful nib. I mean the imperial with TD fill mech has it all! I could easily see myself growing old with this pen.

A man's real possession is his memory. In nothing else is he rich, in nothing else is he poor.

The zenith of Sheaffer quality?

If not, certainly close to it.

My Targa is from the same era and I can say with almost absolute certainty: these things do not wear out. Twenty five or thirty years from now, the cap will still go on properly, the clip will not be loose, and the nib will be flawless.

Touchdowns and snorkels are awesome. Lever fills aren't bad but converters and cartridges just lose to much appeal. I'm jonesing for a touchdown imperial VI but I'm not picky. An Imperial IV would work as well. It will just get beat to heck in my the sleeve pocket of my chef coat. :)

If I wore a suit or even a proper shirt to work everyday I would be looking for a classier pen and an all metal one- especially the sterling silver or gold plated body would fit the bill.
