Tiffany Little Blue Box Blue?

Is there an ink that is dead-on, or pretty darn near Tiffany & Co. blue? I'm pretty versed on the colors out there, but I wonder if maybe I'm overlooking some options? I think Herbin Vert Reseda (which I have) is too green. PR Daphne Blue (also have this one) is too blue. Gah, maybe some mixing is in order... Thoughts?

I'll look into that geoduc. Thanks for the suggestion!

In the mean time, I think I've come pretty close with this mix of Vert Reseda and Daphne Blue. They're pretty much 1:1, with just a few drops more of Daphne Blue.

I tried to white balance these photos, but it make them look way wrong, so just imagine that the paper is white, the ink color actually looks pretty true to life.

I may have to try that. I love the Tiffany Blue! Now can you please replicate MB British Racing Green? Anyone????

I love it too! Such a great color. I even have matching nail polish on at the moment! :bunny01:

I would have thought Waterman South Sea Blue wasn't far off, but it's so hard to tell. Perhaps the problem is that I've never owned anything by Tiffany  . Anyway, you seem to have found a solution in the meantime.

What a great mix! I find both of the original inks a very bright and in-your-face (in a good way) by themselves, but together they make a truly elegant and stunning shade. Lovely!

When my SO tried Diamine Steel Blue, she immediately said it was like the Tiffany blue, and I think it's pretty close. Daphne blue is a shade lighter than the blue, I believe.

From the color on their site, J. Herbin's Diabolo Menthe looks like a match:http://www.jherbin.com/fountain_pen_inks.shtmlExcept that this doesn't seem to be its actual hue, judging by its Goulet swab:http://www.gouletpens.com/J_Herbin_Diabolo_Menthe_30ml_Bottled_Ink_p/h130-33.htm

I have used Diabolo Menthe, and find it too light to be practical. It's on the right track, just not "perfect"... Thanks for the input!

De Atramentis Pigeon Blue looks pretty close to me. If interested, pm me and I'll send you a sample.Cheers!

Will do! Thanks!

I'm definitely going to check it out. From what I've seen it's a very viable option.

If someone figures it out, let me know! Given my wife's love for that particular shade of blue, I could probably buy as much of it as I wanted without argument! (And it would be a LOT cheaper than what usually comes home in those boxes!)

A kind FPN member is going to send me two samples to try. I'll compare them to my mix and my ONE genuine blue box and post pictures. In the mean time, if your wife loves the color and is a fan of nail polish, tell her to check out a color called "For Audrey", it's China Glaze brand (available at Sally Beauty Supply). It's pretty darn accurate, and a lovely polish. I'm becoming quite obsessed with this color!

My first thought was it looks exactly like Adularblau from De Atramentis

Here are some shots in natural light. For some reason the color of this ink makes my auto white balance go haywire. So, this is the best I can do.

Comparing a sample of the box to Goulet's swabs, Pelikan Edelstein Jade looks to be fairly close. The new Diamine Soft Mint may be worth investigating too.
