That sounds ok, I bought a similar Jotter SS this year. It has no signs or letters on the 'clicker' button, but on the top section, on the opposite side to the clip, is stamped; 'France IIIQ' which is the year code, I believe 2010. Then you should see the oval symbol with an arrow in the center, then 'PARKER' centered under the point of the clip.

Hey thanks for your fast reply. So it's an authentic Parker pen? but the writings are a bit hard to read especially the year code. everything what you said is on the top section.

Your 'Jotter' does look authentic, and if you can see the date code with a x5 or x10 magnifier, you can check the year it was made, if it's not new. There is a good table of these ( only just found this info myself! ), if you Google "parker date codes", you can see all the years listed there.

I know over the years I have seen quite a few "look a like" ( i.e. fake ) Parker jotters, they are a popular pen.

I have one made in '92 (made in UK) and one of 2010 (made in France). The prices vary wildly from a couple of £ to £14 for the new 2011 special engraved versions, seen in W.H. Smith in late 2011. Some of the cheapest I have seen were fitted with 'Gel' cartidges rather than the Powerpoint refill.

I have looked at the markings and everything was just like you said, so i am sure that it is an authentic jotter.

Thank you for your help.

Oh and one more thing, why are the jotters with the gold clip hard to find? I can't find them anywhere in my country only online.

I am looking to make a little collection of parker pens. I already have 4. I have 3 jotters (1 ss and 1 ss with cold clip and the one from the picture). the other one i don't know what model that is, but you have to click it but doesn't have the clicker. the whole top part is the clicker.

I guess the shops only stock what they know sells. In the case of the Jotter, I think of it as a well made ballpoint, that will work for a couple of years before it needs a refill. They probably sell at a constant rate, good for presents, not too expensive.

So the ordinary plastic barrel versions sell the best, then the steel 'Flighters' far less.

In our stationers in the UK, the common ones always available are, Black, Dark Blue and Red plastic barrels/steel top. Also Steel 'Flighters' with chrome trim (CT) are normally on sale, sometimes twin packs. The Gold trim is rarer, but does appear, and the same applies to the Gold trim Frontiers.

If you are collecting Jotters, our main Stationers, W.H. Smith have an exclusive (made for them) Jotter ballpoint and Vector (fountain pen) made with a white barrel. I think it is on their website too.

The Parker powerpoint refills are good I find, but Fisher Space pen refills (with white adapter) fit and work well.

Hi all, it's been a while since my last post.

So my collection has gotten a Little bigger and here are some pics.

I now have 3 ss jotters with the gold clip. I bought one used, bought one new and received one from a customer at work. I just gave her a compliment on the pen and she asked me if i wanted it and the rest is history.

Nice collection you've started, wirie01.

I've been using a Jotter almost daily since 1988, and there are great pens. I wsh I had back all the Jotters I've lost over the years.

Do you find the metal barrels slippery to write with?

Oh man don't get me started on losing parkers. the customers just want to take them from me.

I don't write that long with it so the barrel is not slippery for me

Just stumbled on this post and It made me chuckle, Its sometimes easy to forget that everyone is different!

I don't have a problem with jotters as such, I am just sick of looking at them! (I had 20 or so at last count)

The irony is, that I have only ever bought 3 of them, the rest either 'appeared' or came free with a magazine or quote for insurance or as gifts!

After reading this thread I am now thinking they should all find new homes!

If anyone is interested and would like to make an offer - please let me know!!!!

Can't say I have, the problem with selling all at once is that the cost of postage would be huge, over the next week I will list them up in the classifieds and the 'bay so feel free to have a look and get back to me after that, I also have some pen parts coming to me that I am hoping to transform into fully fledged parker 88's and sonnets :D

when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

I searched and couldn't find an answer.. does anyone make a gel refill that would fit the Jotters?

Yes, both parker and monte verde do. check out any good local stationer and you should find them :)
