Akkerman Ink Shared Order From Australia?

beak

Recommended Posts

I want some Akkerman Anniversary ink in those great 150 ml bottles. The postage is stiffish, so I though to see if anyone (ideally in Queensland, but not necessarily) wants some of their ink too, so that we can all save on postage.

We would need to buy seven bottles to get the reduction in postal costs, and I only want one to try out, so that leaves six empty seats on the plane. The cost then reduces to about 31AUD per bottle (to be confirmed when the order is placed and the invoice recieved, and depending on exchange rates on the day) plus postage on within OZ if required. I don't mind organizing it all.

I've talked to Akkermans in The Hague and they are ready and willing.

Anyone?

Sincerely, beak.

I can't help (except to bump this post back to the top)

but I'm curious

if you don't mind me asking

which ink are you hoping to get?

(I have 5 and no duds yet)

(maybe I'd be more helpful bumping this during the Austrailian daylight hours...)

I'm interested. Any idea what the interstate postage would be like? (Victoria)

I had a quick play with the on-line Australia Post calculator and came up with 9AUD (to Melbourne) for a one or two bottles, and then increasing by about 3AUD per bottle. That's aproximate though; sometimes it's a different story when you get to the counter with your parcel.

Sincerely, beak.

Count me in please...........for at least two bottles, maybe three if you are pushed to fill your order.

Here is the colour chart http://www.pw-akkerm...aart-sample.jpg

and the ones I'd like are #15;#24 and maybe #26. You can email me if it is easier.........regarding payment etc.

Thanks for going to all this trouble.........I've been admiring these inks and the bottle design for ages!

OK. I'll keep you posted.

And here's a bigger image of Akkerman's sample sheet;

I'm tossing up between 13 and 15 ( I stayed for a few weeks in Lange Voorhout some time back); I don't have any purple or violet inks, and this is my excuse. On that subject, the only swatches I've found are not drawn with a pen (I think) and any ink colour can appear different when from a nib than when from a cotton bud; does anyone know of complete pen-made colour samples of these inks?

They usually dip a cotton bud in the ink for the swatches. I love purple/violet ink, have the MB Violet and Diamine Imperial Purple and goodness knows what others - but these bottles intrigue me no end! I also like the murky blue-greens (#24 & #26) and for a red - #18. :notworthy1: Here we go again!

I wish I spoke Dutch, I would do my own order!!! However, a joint effort is good fun for the Aussies.

I like #13&16.

I'd be happy to chip in.

And thanks Chris for the notice.

Thank you

OK That's seven bottles already, but I'll leave this up over the weekend, and if there are more than seven bottles wanted, I'll ask Akkermans for the next postage cut-off saving, and we'll see if we can make that number. If not I'll PM everyone who wants ink and get the order off.

I'd like to order before the end of next week, if that's OK by everyone.

ETA

Contacted Akkerman again; their preferred limit for one parcel is fifteen bottles. If we can get to fifteen bottles, the total price drops a little more to about 29.5 AUD per 150ml bottle inc. postage to OZ, but excluding onward postage within OZ as required.

So their whole story on postage to OZ is

1 to 3 bottles: €30

4 to 7 bottles: €40

8 to 15 bottles: €70

No sweat.

I won't be ordering before Wednesday, and I'll check early next week to confirm who wants what and how much to pay etc., so don't worry about colours yet, just how many bottles are wanted.

We can do direct bank transfer (as we're all in OZ) or paypal if anyone prefers, but I'd rather not deal with cheques.

Great news! I can pay by either preferred method.........and if paypal it can be a 'gift' so you don't lose anything.........but bank transfer makes better sense!

Summary to date:

We have about 9 bottles spoken for and we're trying to achieve 15 bottles to get the saving on postage, so there's 6 spaces left in the box in case anyone else would like to join in on this order. Hope to have the quota filled Monday latest and order around Wednesday or Thursday.

Sincerely, beak.

Thanks for organising this beak. I'm trying to work out if I need 150 mL of one type of ink, but the bottles are certainly awesome! :puddle:

I know what you mean, but you can't knock the value for the quantity. Just let me know soon as you can...

Update: More takers - thanks. There are now just three bottles left to go if anyone else wants some. We should make our 15 bottle order easily at this rate.

Will keep you posted here.

Sincerely, beak.

I would like 5, 14 and 22 if there are still spots left, thankyou

Yes - great - and that's our 15!

I may think of doing this again - just stuck me that these would make good Christmas presents for my pen-pals.

I shall check all the figures and let everyone know through the PM system (by tomorrow latest) what each needs to pay. As soon as all the money's in, I send off the order immediately.
