I used to have fistfuls of these pens years ago- ended up giving away all but three, which are terrific writers (F and one M nib). I still think of the purple transparent one I gave to someone at the office years ago. Sigh...

  • 1 month later...

I remember having a couple of these at school - probably in the early 80s - and always ended up getting rid of them because they seemed to leak more than their contemporaries (Platignum and Parker 25) - although I do remember them being good writers.

Most of my posts are edited - it's because I'm a sloppy typist.

Sheaffer has taken care of the problem with the leak.

We have sold several pens to students who use them regularly and they have no complaints.

The nibs and the feeds of Sheaffer School Pens are almost identical to those of No Nonsense Pens.

They are good writers.

And no leakage I'd experienced.

But the ink will easily dry up when left only for a few days.

They are made in China perhaps for the purpose of cost reduction as you can see by photo, but it's no problem.

The problem is the design of the cap.

The cap snaps on firmly, but the inner cap is not designed to seal the front part of the section.

I've found it's useful to keep the pen in a air-tight container.

But, for schoolchildren, to use the pen everyday maybe easier.
