Sampling Of 57 Colors

I just spent this cold winter Sunday (some people argue it is spring in the Northeast, haha), practicing some calligraphy. I decided to take all of the samples and inks that I won and swab and write with them. There are five rows of eleven inks, plus three blacks on the side. I wrote the names of the inks in black, but my writing is very small and might be hard to read so here are the inks: The blacks are Noodler's American Eel Black, Noodler's Bulletproof Black, and Aurora Black. The rest of the inks are as follows:

Column One

01) Diamine Sunshine Yellow

02) J Herbin Scented Yellow

That's awsome! So great to see so many together like that!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

What a lovely way to do ink scans! Thanks for doing that.

Can I ask how long it took to get through all your inks?

I do not quite remember but it was sometime around 2-3 hours in more than one sitting.

It was fun.

Normally, I would not resurrect a post quite this old - but I need to find a specific color swatch. I love these sort of helpful posts. Thanks again. We miss your dictionary posts.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

How did I ever miss this thread before? :o

I do have one question -- any recollections as to whether the PR Tanzanite the regular stuff or the Fast Dry version? Thanks.

It was the regular Tanzanite.

Amberlea, I promise I will be back with the dictionary posts. I burned out, so I needed a recharge. July is tomorrow. Sounds like a good time to begin. I will try. No promises, for tomorrow, though.

Well, we do appreciate you around here.

I'm sure it has taken some time for you to morn after the horrible murder of your snowman. Was the culprit ever apprehended? Were any ink or pens recovered?

Wow great work! Thanks for the time and effort you put in! I know it is from a while ago, but did you do anything to the inks or paper so that it took the flex writing so well? What nib did you use (I assume it was a dip pen)?

My own experience with using a Tachikawa G nib on various decent papers (Clairefontaine, Kokuyo, Apica, Rhodia) seems to suggest that it is quite temperamental - the same ink/paper combo would behave differently depending on how I load the pen and put it to paper.

Thank you!
