Wahl Eversharp Doric desk pen with adjustable nib

I had posted this earlier in the 'Writing Instruments' sub forum. Someone there suggested I would be better off posting it here too,so here I am!

 

 

I had been lusting after an Eversharp Doric with an adjustable nib ever since Zdenek put two of those up for sale in the sales forum. At that time, I had bought the Eversharp Symphony with semi flex nib from him and really liked the pen. This was my introduction to flex nibs and I was hooked. The Doric quickly became my grail pen as I was really fascinated by the adjustable nib. I very quickly become fascinated by anything gadgety (some may say gimmicky,but I would beg to differ!) I was recently all over this forum searching heaven and earth for a Danitrio raw ebonite as I was fascinated by the safety shut off (but that is another story for another day)

 

To cut a long story short,my wife gifted me a black Doric desk pen with an adjustable no.5 stub nib, on my birthday. It is a wonderful,shiny pen with an amazingly smooth stub nib. That adjustable thingy actually works,with the stiff being proper stiff at the stiff end. At the flexible end,the nib is more flexible than my semi flex Symphony,but I don't think it is full flex as I still have to press down a bit to get the tines to open. However,this is only my second flexy pen,so I can't really say. There are I think seven ports of call between stiff and max flex, and that is one fun journey! The stub nib is an added perk as it gives some line variation even at the stiff end.

 

Unfortunately, my wife couldn't find a base for it (The pen looks almost new,but the previous owner didn't have the base with him) So we have been scouring the internet looking for a base for my Doric, but so far, no luck.....I would be eternally grateful if someone here can guide me to a place where I can acquire a base for my poor 'baseless' Doric.

Anyone having any idea whether the doric will fit the base pictured below. This is a Wahl Eversharp base but not the doric's.

That might fit. It is a Wahl Oxford holder. The #5 section is on the dainty side, and it might just fit, but I would have to test it with some I have here to see for sure. I'l do that a little later tonight. I have to believe that there is a Doric holder out there in someone's possession that might be available. Lets see who speaks up. We're trading on thin ice for now because this is not the Want to Buy area of the classifieds and that is where such requests are supposed to go, but your pictures of the pen and the other desk holder will (according to me) qualify as pen related offerings, and makes your request for the desk holder tollerable for now.

Thanks a lot Wahlnut. It would be fantastic if someone has the Doric holder on offer. I would be grateful if you can test this holder with a no. 5 Doric, in case I do not manage to get hold of an original Doric holder. I have been searching on ebay too but none was available. Are these holders rare or do they turn up from time to time?
