Montblanc 149

or check out a Conway Stewart Winston in jet black...

I'm in the middle of deciding between these two pens! I think they both are extremely sharp looking in their black with gold, platinum, or silver accents. Not too overdone; tasteful.

What exactly are you hunting for? A nice looking black pen? Any particular criteria?

Black even makes the Safari classy. The CS Churchill is one handsome pen.....maybe a good choice. The Winston in black.....nice! And I don't care what anyone thinks, those MB 146's and 149's with those snow cap domes....very classy.

JELL-O, IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER!

There is only one universally recognized classy black pen, it has a white star on top. 146 is a perfect size for both carry and use.

Sailor KOP Pro Gear....size of a 149, more modern looking, buttery beautiful nib, cap band is really something, not too many out there,...silver furniture....one of the finest big pens I own...slightly less x-pensive than a MB 149. Not a piston fill...still has ample volume of ink...easier to flush....you don't have to work the mechanism to change ink.

The vac above is quite classy. I have a couple of very classy vintage blacks: a snorkel statesman and a P51 aero.

Not to knock the white star as I am sure they are fine pens, but you see so many of them, it almost comes across cliche. For something classy, there are alternatives such as a Sailor, Montegrappa, Pelikan, Yard O Led (dont know if they have a black pen), Waterman, Parker, Dun Hill or any of the other fine brands that at least will make a more unique statement.

Vintage class. A black Vac.

Well. . . If one were considering vintage pens, I'd feel compelled to point out the Imperial.

the HS is actually pretty ugly but it's perfect for writing.

theres also a parker special edition that's pure black and there's also the montblanc starwalker that's also pure black -- nib included in this package.

Visconti Homo Sapiens; Lamy 2000; Unicomp Endurapro keyboard.

I suggest you have a look at the Photography board within the Creative Expression group.

There is a thread, 'show us you black pen'

Have a look through those pictures, there are some really classy black pens there.

There are also threads on blue and yellow if you change your mind.

Yard O Led (dont know if they have a black pen)

Their very nice black pen would be the Retro. Love mine.

How about the CS Churchill Celebration. Nice chased pattern on that one. My only black pen is a CS Dandy in chased ebonite.
