Here are some new pictures of the Visconti Michelangelo pens. Capped, Roller Ball, Eco Roller, Ball Pen and Fountain. A new Crystal Inkwell too. Im told that they will be coming with a few more inkwells in the coming months as well.

Cheers!

Uggh, I can't believe they named those pens the Michelangelo. Visconti made two LE pens in green celluloid called the Michelangelo; the bigger one was 2d double-reservoir made.

Have they changed the design at all on the cap of the ink well? I love the size, but the old ones seemed to have trouble keeping the base of the caps on and I have one off at Cole's even now to have the cap put back on after only 4 uses. :crybaby:

Are they going to add color to this line or is it just black pens with different colored furniture?

Lovely pens (especially the rose gold), but I think they're a little "uninspired."

+1 to that. I hate to say this, but they remind me of my black and chrome trim Sheaffer 300.

Not to say that the 300's a bad pen of course, but I would have expected so much more from Visconti.

A comparison of the 2 (Sheaffer 300 images shameless plucked from PenHero's thread)

The inkwell looks great though! I wouldn't mind having one sitting on my office desk!

Thanks for another good preview, Bryant. I think "uninspired" conveys my reaction as well. The name "Michelangelo" led me to anticipate a hand-filling O/S pen in glorious celluloid. I am disappointed in the reality. Visconti has once again inflicted a metal section on their consumers. I have not bought a new Visconti in a long while. It appears that, once again, I will have to wait until a more inspiring model comes along.

I like the comment "uninspired". As a fortunate owner of a Michelangelo Grande these pens do nothing for me, especially while carrying that name. I cannot help but wonder why not another name. Oh well, such is life.

I have to agree with most of the sentiments, especially the sheaffer comparison. I thought of the legacy series when I saw them.

I like the inkwell lots but the rest are quite boring. Just my 2c.

:puddle: Yup! That's it! That was what I expected. :crybaby:

Very, very uninspired.

Hope this sells sub 100$ then I can understand it.

That name (Michelangelo) is a BIG one and I think this pen does not deserve it. I was hoping some "Pollock" would came after Van Gogh and Rembrandt ... In this Michelangelo I don`t even see the resemblance with some of his works. Is there a statement from the company yet?

And I second FrankB about the metal section - why not resin? Why I have to buy a limited edition for having a resin section these days?

For the "Pollock", I believe that's the Delta Gallery, without actually using the "Pollock" name. ;)

A question to those in the know: has Visconti lost people from its design team?

There seems to be no spark of life in the new pens. They seem to recycle ideas from earlier pens; it appears V forgot it made a Michelangelo before.

When I look at this design, all I think is, "Hmm, should buy a MB 146 or a 149?" I don't think it was Visconti's intention to make me think of a competitor. I think the Declaration of Independence is fun and clever in a weird way (originally I wasn't crazy about it, but it's grown on me), so the design people are still popping a few winners. But I have to agree with the above comment and just wonder, what they were thinking?

Well, I don't think it is uninspiring, it just inspired me to look away....

I think you didn't catch the new characteristic of this pen... :P probably these photos don't highlight it: it's not rounded!!!

I'm working now for putting it in my website, afterward I'll add a link or some pictures
