Watermark Question

I bought an old box of Neenah Bond Paper and the watermark says "Boise Bond 25% cotton." Is Boise Bond an old Neenah watermark or is the paper in the box from somewhere else?

I don't know if this'll help, but from a document on preparing a graduate dissertation, there is this mention:

Twenty-five percent cotton bond, 20-pound weight white paper is required for all three copies submitted to the library for binding. Some common brand names that you will see are New Mexico Bond, Neenah Bond, Boise Bond (there are others).

It seems like they are two different brands. But take this with a grain of salt as I'm sure the person who wrote this isn't well versed in paper brands.

Thanks. This is interesting. I don't really mind either way if the paper isn't Neenah brand. I mostly just like old watermarks... but I was curious.

I would also suspect mismatched content and box. I don't know that Neenah was part of Boise, but it was part of Kimberly Clark. I hope it's nice paper.

I keep coming back to my Esterbrooks.

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any tips for photgraphing watermarks?

JBB! I'm surprised you ask---you're an expert on taking photos of watermarks! :) I just held this one right against the lampshade with my left hand and clicked the shutter button on my small point and shoot with my right hand, trying to minimize camera shake as much as possible. It helps that my camera is tiny so I can still shoot steadily with one hand. The bright backlight also helps because the camera will choose a faster shutter speed.

Your picture looks so crisp.
