Rotring 600 Rollerballs (Black and Lava)

I have for sale several NOS Rotring 600 Black and Lava finish rollerballs, purchased from a German source (I think probably bankrupt stock). These are unusual in having a wider tip than the standard rollerballs (see bottom photo) and possibly were designed to take a different refill. I haven't come across these before so I'd be grateful for any further information from any Rotring collector out there. The bodies and caps are the standard 'new style' 600 and are interchangeable with the fountain pens.

With a couple of springs these will take current Rotring Rollerball refills or Pilot G2 type refills (possibly also Uniball Signo refills).

Prices include a choice of either a new Rotring (Fine black) or Pilot G2 (Fine, 0.7mm black) refill.

Matte black finish - US$30 (£20)

Lava finish - $50 (£33)

Postage by airmail to the US or outside the UK will be $11 (insured) or $5 (uninsured but with proof of postage).

UK - £2 (first class) or £2.75 (first class recorded).

I can accept payment through Paypal or by cheque (only if drawn on a UK bank).

You can contact me at: cly@welwyn11.freeserve.co.uk

Hi,

No difference at all in the color weight and texture from the standard 600 rollerball with respect to the cap and body section (I've checked they can be interchanged). The only difference is in the tip. These came in plastic sleeves - no boxes I'm afraid.

There are other rollerball refills with similar format to the Pilot G2, such as Schmidt 5888 and Monteverde which would also fit. Parker rollerball refills don't fit.

Another two photographs showing a direct comparison of the 'standard' Rotring 600 rollerballs (on the left in both photos) with the ones I have for sale.

real quality stuff here. i just received mine today. well worth it for $30. downside is finding the proper refill for these though, the g2, signo 207, rotring, waterman, and foray refills all wobble a tiny bit (almost unnoticeable) when you write. if you have ocd, this might not be for you. otherwise, fine pen.

hello,

What is included in the price?

Obviously the main barrel with end, the cap, but does the price include the springs?

ie the only thing missing is a refill to make it work.

Regards

Lawrence

Hi,

Everything needed to make the rollerball functional is included - barrel, cap, 2 springs and refill, as shown in the first photograph on the listing.
