Last time I counted it was a little over 50 in various states of repair, but I've bought more since then. Luckily I don't consider myself a collector of 51s (I like Valentines and Stephen's) its just you see so many more 51s when out hunting and it's hard to resist one when you see it (especially those I've bought at £2). I even got a 51 ball pen recently (currently selling on Ebay, ends tomorrow evening), and one of my best buys was a capless one with a lovely broad nib for £5. Finally the chinese takeaway container I put them in is full so I'll probably stop buying - but I've told myself that before. Hang on, I've just had a thought, if I start using one day to day in the office, I'll be able to fit one more in. Phew!!!

I have two. A Parker Aero teal blue that was bought 3 years ago as nos....permanently in my small rotation of 4....and a '44 black vac/gold cap that now sits in the case. I am always on the lookout for a pristine cedar with a lusty cap and a f/m or m nib...then I will be finished with 51's.

I very much enjoy writing with a 51.

Three:

1.Black, single jewel, Lustraloy cap, medium nib, made in England. This pen goes everywhere with me.

2.Cedar Blue, single jewel, Lustraloy cap, medium nib, made in Canada

3.Navy Gray 51 Special, Lustraloy cap, fine nib, made in USA

Also gave a mint, Black, single jewel, Lustraloy cap, medium nib, Made in England, to my son.

All great pens, excellent dependable writers. But you knew that.

wise words - i have a hard time too to resist when i see one of these dark colors (navy, cedar, midnight, cordovan, plum) with a nice cap like silver, jewellers, gold filled...

i have three now with a 4th coming but i think i need at least 6 more in the next months. the good thing: demis, vacs, aeros, different colors, different caps, different nibs...

I think my wife would agree with me if I were to say simply, "Too many!!"

Pics below:

1) the misc bunch of pens, pencils and p51 BPs that are in my 'to restore/storage' pile

2) the display tray of the DJ and other various colours

3) the small corner of my desk with the user desk pens (there are 3 p51s in there...2 which have strange translucent lucite)

My carry-around kit has hidiously ugly p51 signet, a black DJ with a personally engraved cap and a p51 jotter. I enjoy a Parker 51 every day.

Four vac fill single jewel in dove gray, cordovan, cedar, and black. Five aero fill in black, midnight blue, burgundy, navy gray, and cocoa (demi).

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

Just one - to see what all the fuss is about. Got it about a year ago. It was ok, but I prefer other, less minimalist pens...

none .... yet :)

Ditto. I was hoping to talk my mom out of the one she used when I was a kid, since I know she no longer uses a fountain pen.

Her response: "Oh, that old thing? I'm sure I tossed it out years ago."

Two, had three but GASP! Horror! I lost one! Boo hoo! I have a 1943 Dove Gray, and a 1946 Black vacs. I lost a 1951 Blue Aerometric Demi. They are truly great workhorse pens. I would like more in my collection.

I've got about 10, selling 3 or so.. One that I keep in my pocket at all times. :)
