Nice combination of oranges and reds. Lovely.

And what's the photo in your avatar, AltecGreen?

I was playing around with depth of field in this picture. Wide open aperture to blur the background.

The photo in my avatar is the main audience hall in the reconstruction of the Lord's Mansion at Kumamoto Castle in Japan.

Thank you.

And it's not just the background - it's the way this picks up the colour of the gold in the nib. Very nice. Simple, but nice.

(And then the sharp lines against the blur, and so on.)

Though I'd post a better pic of my favorite:

Eversharp Coronet

Whoa, that is one cool nib there, SJM. Also, the little detail at the base of the nib -- very nice!

It's even cooler to use--It's an adjustable flex stub making for lots of fun line variation when set to stiff, superflex or anything in beteween :)

Ern.

Holy moly!!

Excuse the crappy snap, just didn't realise the size of this nib until I compared it to a little vintage number I've been using..

I haven't taken pen pictures in a while, and this morning I took this quick-and-dirty shot [sOOC] for a Waterman thread, and since it's nibs... NIBS! I'm-a post it here, too:

D'oh, forgot to link to that other thread: LINK.

Also, Dandelion, I love your handwriting and that Sunshine Yellow ink, wow!

This inspired me to try taking some pictures of the nibs of my own fountain pens. I've only recently been introduced to the world of fountain pens so there is so far only the two.

This is my first Fountain Pen, an ACME that I bought because it was decorated like the Frank Lloyd Wright Coonley House... For relatively inexpensive pen, the nib is quite beautiful, I think.

Here are some photos I made a while back. I had attached part of a darkroom "Grain Focusing Magnifier" to the my Canon Powershot camera. The optics on the focusing aid are not great, which shows in the overall poor quality of the images...nevertheless, it did produce some interesting macro shots.

jmj75 — I feel as though I'm walking on the tips of those nibs! Extreme macro is very exciting! Thank you for these.
